The Del Bar

Review

Celebrating 75 years in the same family, The Del Bar offers a timeless dining experience with a blend of classic charm and upscale elegance. Located in the heart of Wisconsin Dells, it’s the perfect spot for those looking to indulge in a special evening, whether it's for a milestone celebration or simply treating yourself to a refined dining experience.

Ambiance:

The restaurant exudes a true old-fashioned supper club feel, with a touch of nostalgia. The red bumper bar rail and traditional bar seating are key features that immediately transport you to a different time. While the bar area gives off a classic vibe, the restaurant itself is upscale, providing a more elegant dining atmosphere with an emphasis on fine details. It’s a perfect spot for a special occasion like an anniversary, where you can enjoy a relaxed but refined dining experience. Be prepared to pay a little more for the high-quality service and cuisine, as it’s a treat that’s worth every penny.

Salad and Relish Tray:

While The Del Bar doesn’t have a salad bar or relish tray, the salad that arrives at your table is beautifully plated, fresh, and a perfect starter to your meal. The attention to detail in both presentation and flavor showcases the care that goes into every dish, ensuring a memorable dining experience.

Drinks:

For drinks, we had the Korbel Old Fashioned and a Lemon Drop Martini, both expertly crafted by the bartender. The Korbel Old Fashioned is a classic cocktail, made to perfection, with the right balance of sweetness and bitterness. The Lemon Drop Martini offered a refreshing and tangy contrast, making it a great pairing for the rich, flavorful dishes that followed.

Meal:

The meal itself was nothing short of exceptional!

The Bone-in Ribeye Oscar Style was a standout dish. The steak was cooked to perfection, juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. Topped with rich Oscar-style crab and hollandaise sauce, it was an explosion of taste that made every bite a true indulgence. And yes, it was so delicious we even took the bone home to savor later!

The Batter Fried Cod was flaky and light, with just the right amount of breading—exactly as I prefer. The fish was perfectly fried, allowing the natural flavors of the cod to shine through without being overwhelmed by the breading. It paired wonderfully with the sides and added a nice contrast to the steak.

Both dishes were prepared with a focus on quality, and the presentation was immaculate. It’s clear that The Del Bar goes above and beyond to provide a fine dining experience that is both delicious and visually stunning.

Service:

The service at The Del Bar was attentive and on point. The staff was professional and interactive, engaging with us in a friendly yet unobtrusive manner. They took the time to make sure our dining experience was flawless, offering thoughtful recommendations and ensuring our needs were met without ever feeling rushed. This level of service adds to the upscale atmosphere, making it feel like a truly special occasion.

Final Thoughts:

For those looking to enjoy an upscale, fine dining experience in Wisconsin Dells, The Del Bar is a must-visit. The bone-in ribeye Oscar style and batter fried cod are standout dishes that highlight the restaurant’s commitment to quality, and the expertly crafted cocktails complement the meal perfectly. The service is top-notch, making this a wonderful spot to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy an indulgent meal. With 75 years of family tradition behind it, The Del Bar continues to deliver an unforgettable experience that’s both classic and refined.
